I want to play realistic characters onscreen and not the typical hero, says Ayushmann Khurrana!

VJ-turned-actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who made a victorious Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor, aspires to play realistic characters onscreen and not the typical hero. He will next be seen in Rohan Sippy's directorial venture Nautanki Saala. As theatre is the backdrop of the film, lead actors - Ayushmann and Kunal - will be dressed up as nautanki walas, donning the traditional attire of folk drama artistes. "The best part is all the roles that I am playing are real or close to reality. I have done theatre so I could relate to the character in Nautanki Saala," Ayushmann told sources. Later, he will star up with his Yash Raj Films’ romcom opposite Sonam Kapoor, which is yet to be titled. This fun-filled satire has been written by Ishaqzaade director Habib Faisal and will be directed by Nupur Asthana. "It is a love story in the times of recession and I play a guy who is hit by recession. It is a Habib Faisal kind of film, very real," the actor said. Sources say that far ahead of his first film Vicky Donor hit cinema houses; Ayushmann had managed to impress John Abraham, who signed him for his next home production Hamara Bajaj. The film will be directed by Shoojit Sircar and will have Ayushmann playing the role of a young man called Sanjay Bajaj, who is a struggling actor. "I have Shoojit Sircar's film Hamara Bajaj where I play a tourist who wants to be an actor. So that is also real. The best part is I am getting to play real characters. I don't want to try and become a hero or somebody performing out of scale. I would prefer to be real and subtle in films," he said. His Nautanki Saala is slated to release on April 12 this year and we hope that it tastes success!

Salim Khan demanded 6 crores from makers of Zanjeer remake!

Since the remake of 1973’s Zanjeer has been announced, it is rolling around the controversy over the copyright and royalty issue. And latest one coming is with the writer of original Zanjeer, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan. He has demanded Rs six crore as compensation since the makers did not take his permission before going ahead with the movie. Salim Khan, who had co-written the screenplay and dialogues for the 1973 original film Zanjeer, said, “I have demanded Rs six crore as compensation, since as writers of the film we had the rights over the script. They are using our script and did not negotiate or felt like talking to us before going ahead with the making of the film.” "We had given blessings to make the film but not the permission," said Khan who has demanded Rs three crore for Hindi release and Rs three crore for the Telugu version. "Even before they started shooting for the film, we were in talks with the makers but they did not bother to enter into any dialogue," Khan said. The remake version is produced by Amit Mehra, son of Prakash Mehra, the producer and director of the original film. "It is not an emotional matter...that someone wants to make his father's film again. We are not against anyone for remaking the film...we just want them to take permission from us. We had given the rights for the remake version of Don," Khan said.

I am super confident about Himmatwala's success, Sajid Khan!

After giving super hits in a row such as Heyy Babyy, Housefull and Housefull 2, filmmaker Sajid Khan is very confident about the success of his upcoming film Himmatwala (remake of the 1983 hit) which stars Ajay Devgn and southern actor Tamannah. “I am super confident about the film’s success. Yeh hit hai boss! I believe I have done justice to the original. However, the remake is not the same, it is my take on the original Himmatwala,” said Sajid Khan who recently unveiled the official trailer of the film on the sets of dance reality show Nach Baliye 5 which he is co-judging with actor Shilpa Shetty and choreographer Terence Lewis. Moreover, the filmmaker also said only actor Ajay Devgn could have done justice to the role. “When I thought of the word himmatwala, I couldn’t think of anyone other than Ajay Devgn who could do justice to the role. He is a great actor and can portray emotions, anger and action effectively," added the 40-year-old director. After Himmatwala, Sajid Khan will be making another action thriller with Nawab Saif Ali Khan. “I am yet to finish a portion of Himmatwala. My next project will be with Saif Ali Khan and will most likely go on the floors by June,” confirmed Sajid Khan.
