We have seen many actors coming on the sets of Sony TV’s extremely popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Amitabh Bachchan in order to promote their upcoming.
However, acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee made his presence on the sets of the show with a different motive. As heard from sources, Manoj was to play the quiz for a noble cause. He participated in the show along with a representative of Soshit Seva Sangh, a Patna-based organization that works for education of underprivileged villagers of the Musaahar community. The community of rat-eaters has a population of about 60 lakh and their plight is unknown to the rest of the country.
The actor said, "I know about this community as some of its members live in the village I come from. I have known about them since I was a child and understand their situation very well. So, when I got this opportunity to support their cause, I didn't think twice."
Much to the actor's surprise, his phone has been constantly ringing since then, as callers express their wish to support the cause. "I'm directing all the calls to Mr. JK Sinha, a former law professional who initiated this cause. It's because of him that many villagers are getting educated not only in Hindi, but also English, so that they can compete with the world," he added.
Meanwhile, Manoj is not limiting his association with the cause to donating the prize money as he even plans to visit the organization on his next trip to Patna, as he promises, "It will be a long association."
That’s highly commendable Manoj Bajpayee!
