Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola Makes 22.4 Crores Over The 1st Weekend

Many 2012 movies had proved that good content still finds its way up in Bollywood. Come 2013 and Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola proves it yet again. The movie which had a opening day collection of 7.02 Crores nett, made 6.75 Crores on Saturday and 8.63 Crores on its 1st Sunday. This sums up to an opening weekend collection of 22.4 Crores which is the highest number for a Vishal Bhardwaj film. Not only this, but MKBKM now holds the biggest 1st day collection for both Vishal Bhardwaj and Imran Khan. The numbers are expected to be in the same range again on Monday owing to Makar Sankranti and Pongal holidays. The numbers even though not great are pretty decent for Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. Considering the star cast, budget and promotions of the film, the makers are surely quite happy with the numbers. If you look at OMG Oh My God!, it too started on a low note at the Box Office. However, the film picked up really well later and went on to make 81 Crores plus business at the Domestic Box Office. If Matru keeps up with some steady numbers it sure will reach a reasonably good total at the domestic box office.
