Sonakshi Sinha was seen doing a promotional song Go Go Govinda in OMG Oh My God with Prabhudeva, but it was quite a religious song. However, now the curvaceous beauty is set to turn into a full-time item girl as she is set to shake her leg in an item song in Sajid Khan’s next Himmatwala.
The film stars Ajay Devgn and South beauty Tamannaah as leads and this comes as big opportunity for Sonakshi, who has been since long trying to shed her desi girl image. It’s actually an introductory song Thank God It's Friday, which has been inspired by the discos of the 80s, with reflective dance floors, mirrors and all things shiny.
Buzz says that there will be around 100 dancers and 400 extras featuring in the song, which might just remind audiences of the Jawani Jaaneman song from Namak Halal, in which Parveen Babi dazzled in gold.
A source close to the development said, "Sajid has conceived of this lavish introductory song for which he wanted Sonakshi. She has a certain rustic image that she has been trying to break out of. Though she is proud of the roles she has done so far, this song seems like the perfect platform for her to attempt a makeover. Her costumes will be designed by Manish Malhotra."
Hence, after playing a series of Indianised characters, Sonakshi will finally get to glam up for the 80s' inspired special song. Though Sajid-Wajid has scored the music for Himmatwala, this particular song has been composed by Sachin-Jigar and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. Chinni Prakash has been roped in to choreograph the song.
We hope you succeed in breaking your image with this song, Sonakshi!
